Katja Rego received her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University in Boston. A Licensed Mental Health Counselor, she has been a psychotherapist since 1986. Trained as a general psychotherapist, she specializes in Women’s issues, Adolescent & Young Adult Issues, conflicts of Creative Artists and Musicians, and Multi-cultural Issues, with an emphasis on bi-cultural and bi-racial concerns.
Ms. Rego uses a psychodynamic, client-centered, didactic modality with an emphasis on solution-oriented psychotherapy. She has training in and employs a Relational Therapy model.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Katja speaks fluent English, Portuguese & Spanish.
Ms. Rego has experience with individual, couple and family therapy modalities. For seven years she was responsible for coordinating the mental health counseling services at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Her duties included providing individual counseling, running workshops on psychoeducational issues and training faculty on the mental health issues of students.
